    Robert Lee Goul, 84, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away, Monday, January 28, 2008
    at Overland Park Regional Hospital.
    Graveside services will be Friday, February 1, at 12:00 Noon in Cherokee City Cemetery, Cherokee, Kansas.
    Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, from 5-7 PM with a service at 7:00 PM at
    D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the local chapter of the Alzheimer?s Association.
    Mr. Goul was born August 11, 1923 near Russell, Kansas. He grew up in Brownell Township, Trego County, Kansas relocating with his family to Cherokee County, Kansas in 1931. He graduated from Cherokee County Consolidated High School in Columbus, Kansas in 1941.
    He married Mae Phillips of Columbus, Kansas and lived in numerous cities in Kansas including seven years in Parsons, Kansas, and 44 years in Shawnee, Kansas. Robert and Mae celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary the day before his death. Mr. Goul was the father of seven children.

    During World War II he was employed by two aircraft manufacturing companies in Wichita, Kansas and an ammunition plant in Southeastern Kansas. Over his life time he worked for three railroad companies, The Katy, The Rock Island and the Santa Fe. Robert worked for TransWorld Airlines for 21 years. Robert retired from the TWA maintenance center overhaul base in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1986 where he worked as Machinist and lead Mechanic for TWA. He was a Thirty-second Degree Free Mason of the Scottish Rites in the Valley of Northeast Kansas, and a Past Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #54 a member of the Nall Avenue Baptist Church of Shawnee-Mission, Kansas and a former member and Deacon of Trinity Baptist Church of Shawnee, Kansas for thirty years. Mr. Goul was also a Deacon in many Southern Baptist Churches since 1945.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Jackson and Elsie Christina (Gossadge) Goul of Erie Kansas, and, Kansas his brother Harry Goul of Columbus, Kansas, his sister Mary (Goul) Gottschalk of Topeka, Kansas and one grandson William Robert Bruce.

    He was survived by is his wife Mae, his seven children and their spouses William and Darlene (Goul) Bruce of Kansas City, Missouri, Gary and Patricia Goul of Gardner, Kansas, John and Mary (Goul) Grimsley of Kansas City, Kansas, Robert and Chele Goul of Kansas City, Kansas, Jerry and Martia Goul of Olathe, Kansas, A. J. and Connie (Goul) Andrews of Shawnee, Kansas and Roger and Kathy Goul of Paola, Kansas,
    Twenty-four grandchildren, Forty great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren.
