  1. 12.  DISHMAN, Joe Vade was born 03 Oct 1913 (son of DISHMAN, Joseph and DISHMAN, America); died Lewisville, Henry County, Indiana.

    Notes:

    Joe Vade "Friday" Dishman Sr., 92, of Lewisville died Tuesday at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

    He was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Monticello, Ky., a son of the late Joseph and America Dishman.

    He was a farmer and has made his home in the Lewisville area for the past 68 years. He was an avid gardener. He was well known in the Lewisville area for growing and sharing sweet corn. He enjoyed the opportunity to visit friends and neighbors as they came to his door to pick up the corn. He never met a stranger and loved to spend time visiting. He was a meat cutter and retired from the Rose City Packing House in 1970 after 40 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1945 and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon. He was a member of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He had a great love for farming which he shared with his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid bluegrass music enthusiast.

    He is survived by his son, Joe (wife: Judy) Dishman of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Angie (husband: Larry) Reamer, Heather (husband: Chris) Ingenito, Trent (wife: Katina) Dishman and Brandon (wife: Holly) Dishman; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Haley and Braden Reamer, Alyssa, Andrew, Lindsay and Jackson Ingenito, Kylie, Vade, Vance, Madelyn and Landon Dishman.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, the former Lillian Davis, whom he married Dec. 31, 1938, in Greenfield, and who passed away Sept. 28, 2005; two great-grandchildren, Reilly Ingenito and Laurel Reamer; a brother, Shelby Buzz Dishman; two sisters, Fleecy Marsh and Ona Hudson; an infant brother, Melvin Dishman.

    Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville with Chaplain Robert Shaeffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and prior to the services on Saturday. Military honor guard service will be conducted by the New Castle American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisville Presbyterian Church.

    Lillian Davis Dishman

    Lillian Davis Dishman, 86, of Lewisville died Wednesday at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

    She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in New Castle, a daughter of the late William Issac and Anna Elizabeth Davis.

    A lifelong Henry County resident, she worked at New Castle Chrysler Corp. during World War II and at Rose City Meat Packing House for 18 years. She retired from Tri High School where she worked as a cook for 18 years. She has been a member of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church since 1964 and was a member of the R.S.T. Club at Lewisville. She volunteered at the Henry County Memorial Hospital and was an avid bluegrass enthusiast.

    She loved to spend time with her family which includes her husband, Joe Vade, whom she married Dec. 31, 1938, in Greenfield; her son, Joe (wife: Judy) Dishman of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Angie (husband: Larry) Reamer, Heather (husband: Chris) Ingenito, Trent (wife: Katina) Dishman, Brandon (wife: Holly) Dishman; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Haley and Braden Reamer, Alyssa, Andrew, Lindsay and Jackson Ingenito, Kylie, Vade Vance and Madelyn Dishman.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandchildren, Riley Ingenito and Laurel Reamer; five brothers, Warren, Ralph, Floyd, Wilbur and Howard Davis; a sister, Gladys Cowan; two infant siblings, Charles and Helen.

    Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville with the Rev. Linda Philabaun and Robert Shaeffer officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery. Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
