    • Lois G. Spang, 89, of Ford City, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, in Erdley's Personal Care. Born April 8, 1920, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Edna (Graff) Shumaker. Mrs. Spang was a homemaker. she was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Manorville, the American Legion Auxiliary and Bethel Township Senior Citizens. Mrs. Spang enjoyed camping, cooking, storytelling, listening to country music, singing and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Harry "Smokey" (Linda) Spang, Ford City, and Richard (Linda) Spang, Kittanning; a daughter, Janet Cloak, Templeton; five grandchildren, Tim Spang, Amy Fulton, Eric Spang, Jennifer Wolfe, and Allison Kimmel; and seven great grandchildren, Noah Spang, Liam Spang, Alex Spang, Colleen Fulton, Cami Fulton, Timmy Fulton, and Morgan Kimmel, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herman D. Spang, who died September 29, 2002; two brothers, Charles and Harry Shumaker, and three sisters, Vera Schaeffer, Frances Angelo, and Mildred Loree. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Welch Funeral Home, Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Andrew Dougherty III officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Leader Times 11/21/2009
