- RIDGELEY, W.VA. -- Harold Kenneth Spang, 71, of Ridgeley, W. Va. died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at James E. VanZandt Veterans Medical Center, Altoona, Pa.
Born January 1, 1934 in Oklahoma, Pa., he was the son of the late Kenneth Earl and Julia Bernice (Duckworth) Spang. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Elva Jean Readd.
Mr. Spang was a retired U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Cumberland American Legion Post 13, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2883, the Cumberland V.F.W. and a life member of the Ridgeley V.F.W. Post 6452.
Surviving are one nephew, Ralph Readd, Patterson Creek, WV; three nieces, Iris Dennison and husband Denny, Ridgeley, WV, Jackie Reuschel and husband Dave, Patterson Creek; Gloria Miller and husband Delford, Ridgeley; two great nieces, Krista Rogers and husband Bob, Tina Helmick and husband Brian; six great-nephews, Michael Brandt and Heather Cowgill, Dennis Dennison and wife Stacey, David Reuschel and wife Shari, Lon Del Miller, Joseph Readd, Jordan Readd; one great-great niece and four great-great nephews.
At Mr. Spang's request, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
