    • Ruby Spang Horgan, 90, of Mountain Home passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2005 at a local hospital, with family by her side. Ruby was born June 9, 1915, along with her twin sister Ruth, in Grand View, Idaho, the daughter of Matt and Minnie Spang. She was raised and educated in Grand View. She married the love of her life, Mike Horgan on July 3, 1937 in Mountain Home. Mike and Ruby were each otherīs dance partner for the rest of their lives. Ruby was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Royal Neighbors of America, Eastern Stars and the Elkettes. Ruby was an avid collector of dolls and loved shopping. Family and friends were often greeted at the door with the aroma of homemade breads and pies; she was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word, she made a house a home for her entire life and we are so thankful for that. She loved all of her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment spent with them. Besides her own family, she helped raise and shape the lives of the many children that she cared for; it was jokingly said that she potty trained half of the children in Mountain Home; many adults today will remember time spent on the "Little Red Chair." Ruby is survived by her daughters Ruth McIntyre of Austin, Texas, Patsy Roberts of Caldwell, and Betty Thompson and her husband Ron; her sons Bob Horgan and his wife Mary, and Tom Horgan and his wife Janet; her sister-in-law Evelyn Edwards, all of Mountain Home; her brother-in-law Frank Horgan of Colorado; and 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Mike of 62 years, five brothers, three sisters, two sons, one daughter-in-law, and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at the Mountain Home Elks Lodge #2276. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Rubyīs name to the Elketts Club, 325 South 3rd West, Mountain Home, Idaho 83647. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home. Mom, take Dadīs hand and join him in the next dance. We Love You.
