- Seeking information on the Butler family who were in Bertie County, NC in the 1700s. John Butler probably came down from Virginia in the early 1700s. Curry Butler, born about 1760, was a soldier in the Revolution and my gggrandfather. He married (1) Elizabeth Folk in 1793 and (2) Mary Crickett in 1794. Migrated to Georgia in 1800. Would like to identify Curry butlers parents. Any help on this Butler clan will be appreciated.
In your Butler research have you encountered a Curry Butler born in Bertie County, NC in about 1765, served in the NC Militia in the Revolution and migrated with his family to Lincoln County, GA in about 1800? He died in Gwinnett County, GA in 1822. Any information will be appreciated.
