- There is some question as to whether Theodosia's parents were married. Although her formal name was apparently Koontz, she always went by the name of Livezey. She did not live with her mother but with her mother's cousin. She went by the names of 'Dose' or 'Dora' but the family referred to her as 'Old Mom'.
