Notes |
- Note: They first settled at Ward, Mass, "The territory of this town was taken from leicester, Norcester, Oxford and sutton and incorporated 10 April 1778, and was named in honor of the Rev. General Artemas Ward." In 1837 the name was changed to Auburn. In the fall of 1814 Jonathan came to Hebron, maine with his son Pitt. In the following spring, his wife with their younger children joined him. Ten days were required to make the journey. They lived on the Craig Farm about four years, and afterward occupied a farm on the same road, about one mile nearer marway. The family were especially interested in religion and aided in the organization of the first church and furnished it's first two Deacons. Jonathan and his wife are buried at South Paris, ME (World Connect Project, no original source listed)
