OLD ARTIST WEDS HIS FORMER PUPIL
      --------------------------------
William Spang, Portrait Painter, and Miss Adelaide Paris are Quietly Married
      -------------------------------------
The news of the wedding on Saturday afternoon of William Spang, the 71-year-old portrait painter, and his former pupil, Miss Adelaide Paris, leaked out yesterday. Although it was known that the two intended to marry, the wedding came as a surprise, as it was thought that it would not occur until later.
The wedding is the culmination of a romance begun in Mr. Spang's studio while Miss Paris was a pupil. He was smitten by her charms, but did not propose until several years afterwards. The bride, who is a daughter of the late Leopold Luigi Paris, of Rome, is 41 years old.
The wedding occurred at the home of Miss Paris, at 233 North Twentieth street. Rev. George Gunning, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Eighth and Spruce streets, married the couple. They left for a short trip to the South.
