I don't have connections with the Davis side from North Carolina anymore - but they were from Yadkin County near Elkin, NC. My grandmother Davis was a Jester and in my teens we visited the Jesters in around Elkin. They are probably still there, many were teachers.
From Christopher Hutton, great-grandson, the Davis home was a mile west of Mooreland, Indiana. It burned in September, 1906.
