- Robert C. Spang of Vero Beach, FL and Wakefield died Monday Jan. 14, 2008 in Vero Beach, FL at age 79. Born in Boston on May 18, 1928 he was the son of the late Frank J. & Leona (Roche) Spang, Jr.
Mr. Spang was raised and educated in Wakefield and later attended the University of Massachusetts.
He was a W.W. II veteran and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Spang was the retired founder and president of Spang Controls which was then located in Stoneham. His prior employment was with General Electric of W. Lynn where he worked for 18 years as an instrument engineer and later was the general manager of the Endress & Hauser Company and also worked with R. Stahl Consultants.
Mr. Spang was the husband of Marjorie M. (Colliander). He was the father of Marcia A.Venditti & husband Stephen of Barrington, IL, Corrine A. DiSanto & husband Paul and Robert C. Spang, Jr. & wife Linda all of Wakefield, Edmund C. Spang Joanie Kelleher and Brian J. Spang & wife Donna of Vero Beach, FL. Brother of Frank J. Spang, III of Middleton, Leo T. Spang of Andover and the late Paul R. & John H. Spang. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
