Notes |
- Frederick Agler's two story Federal style brick home was built abt 1810 and still stands on Sunbury Rd in Franklin Co. It still has all the original woodwork, including built in cabinets, bookshelves, fireplace mantles, etc. Each rm has its own fireplace. The kitchen still has a huge fireplace for cook in which had been covered over for yrs when the current owner purc the prop in the 1970's. He has painstakingly restored the home an has furnished it with PA German antiques from the late 1700's. He is not related to the Aglers, when he bought the home, the owners were planning to bulldoze the bldg.
Riverside Cemetery, Mifflin Township, Franklin County, Ohio has a tall cast bronze monument erected to Frederick and Margaret Agler, manufactured in Connecticut. Their beautiful home and this bronze marker leave the impression that they were quite prosperous family for the place and time. Frederick Agler was one of the first American settlers in the township.
