Ventura County Star (CA) - April 6, 2008
      Deceased Name: Naomi L. Spang
Naomi L. Spang passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on March 30, 2008, at the age of 97.

Naomi was born Nov. 8, 1910, in Iowa. Her family then moved to South Dakota before she became a resident of Ventura County for 80 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and felt blessed to be able to stay home and raise her two daughters. After they were grown, she worked for the Ventura Unified School District as a cafeteria aide for 13 years. She loved to travel the United States with her husband, Howard.

Naomi had many talents, which she loved to share with family and friends. She loved to knit, crochet and make beautiful arts and crafts for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Howard R. Spang; son-in-law, Ronald Lee Folkes; and granddaughter, Tutti Morgantini.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty A. Martin and Arlene R. Folkes; grandchildren, Ron and Caryn Folkes, Steve and Leslie Folkes, Wally and Diane Folkes, Joe and Christie Anselmo and Don and Susan Martin; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. As her great-great-grandson Colton would say, "Where's grandma great?"

Contributions may be made in her name to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 1075 E. Daily Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010; phone 805-482-1166.
