Phillip was shown in the 1860 census as being age 30 as of 7/8/1860, the date of the census. The death date in record is shown as 3/17/1822, taken from the headstone in the St. Patrick cemetary, Erin Prarie Wisconsin.
Served in the Civil War and was mustered-in at Madison, Wisconsin, Company D, 30th Wisconsin Infantry, October 21, 1862. He served until he was mustered-out September 20, 1865, Louisville, Kentucky.
