Ball, 52, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2005. He was born October 31, 1952, in Oshkosh, the son of Charles and Betty (nee Feil) Ball. He was a Racine resident for most of his life. While attending William Horlick High School he worked at Jerry's Standard Station. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army serving as a military policeman while stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Dave was employed with Racine Steel Castings, and served as secretary of Local 553 until the company's demise. Survivors include his beloved daughter Laura M. (fiance, Eric Hansen) Ball; his mother, Betty Tyburski; his brothers, Tim and Bob Ball; his sisters, Terry Ball, Mary (Mark) Delk, and Jayne Otterness all of Racine, and Tracy Ball of Illinois. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; stepfather, Edward Tyburski; grandparents, Fred Feil, Ada Jenista, Dallie and Emery Ball; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn J. Ball. A committal service with full military honors will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in the chapel of the Southern Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Town of Dover. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated. (nee: Shade) Booth, 86, went to be with her Lord Jesus from Lakeshore Manor in Racine, on Saturday, January 8, 2005. She was born in Chambersburg, Pa. on April 20,1918, to Harry and Bulia (nee: Bitner) Shade. Maynetta, was raised in Richmond, Va. and resided most of her married life of 42 years, in Alexandria Va. with her husband, Arthur C. Booth, who preceded her in death. She has resided in Racine for the past five years. She attended Grace Church and was active in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). She had a heart for serving others. Maynetta loved being with people and they loved being with her. She loved boating on Lake Michigan and attending the Reefpoint Marina Church. She is survived by her son, A.Chris (Patricia) Booth of Franksville; her sister, Betty Ann Stone of Richmond, Va.; granddaughter, Kristin (James) Hodgin of Franklin, Tenn.; grandson, Patrick (Lori) Booth of Sturtevant; and great-grandchildren, Colin and Hannah Hodgin. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by five brothers; and two sisters. She was loved and will be greatly missed by many friends and her relatives. Goldsworthy, 58, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2005, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on October 31, 1946, to Merrill J. and Genevieve (nee: McGregor) Goldsworthy. On April 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to Mary Nelson. As a youth he was a member and was confirmed at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. Jack was a 1964 graduate of Wm. Horlick High School. He was stationed in Korea from 1966 to 1968 with the United States Army as an MP. Honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. He had been a machinist at Twin Disc for 32 years, retiring due to illness in 2004. Jack had many interests. He enjoyed sports including baseball, golf and bowling. One of his hobbies was making golf clubs for family and friends. He also enjoyed reading. Surviving is his wife, Mary; and their son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin (Jill) Goldsworthy; and granddog, Casey of Overland Park, KS; mother, Genevieve Goldsworthy of Racine; brother, Dr. Bruce (Kathleen) Goldsworthy of Wausau; father-in-law, Norman Nelson of Racine; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Jerry) Bonini of Kenosha and Jane (Don) Norbin of Minn.; one brother-in-law, Paul (Terry) Nelson of McFarland; further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill on September 14, 1999; and mother-in-law, Margaret Nelson on June 5, 1983. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Samuelson officiating. Private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Verne Bernard Schaefer, 76, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2005. Father Schaefer was born on December 24, 1928, in Waterford. he began his studies for the priesthood at St. Francis Minor Seminary in 1947, and attended St. Francis Major Seminary from 1949 - 1955. Father Schaefer was ordained to the priesthood on May 14, 1955, by the Most Reverend Albert G. Meyer, Archbishop of Milwaukee, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee. Father began his priestly ministry on June 1, 195, as an assistant at St. Mary Parish, Sheboygan Falls. On April 3, 1963, he was named an assistant at ST. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Waterford, and was named an associate pastor on October 2, 1973, for St. Mary Parish, Sheboygan Falls. Father was named to his first pastorate on June 18, 1974, serving St. Mary Parish, Lost Lake, and the St. Gabriel Mission in Randolph. On November 1, 1976, he was named Chaplain for Our Lady of the Oaks Convent in Pewaukee; administrator pro tem at St. James, Mukwonago, on July 15, 1977; and pastor at St. James, Mukwonago, on June 13, 1978. Father was named pastor at St. Mary Parish in Fox Lake from December 1, 1986, until his retirement from active ministry on September 30, 1995. Father Schaefer is survived by siblings, Norbert (Lorraine) Schaefer, Vera (Joseph) Wanke, and George Schaefer; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, Anna M. (nee: Naber) and Edward G. Schaefer; siblings, Roman, David, Edward, Bernice, Mary Louise, Helen, Robert, Joseph, Paul and Gerald. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial with officiant Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan and homilist Reverend Alan Jurkus will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 305 First Street, Waterford. She was born in Racine June 5, 1908, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee: Rauguth) Spang and had been a lifelong resident. On April 27, 1946, at St. Louis Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Oliver S. Wespetal, who preceded her in death March 31, 1991. Juliana was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was a charter member of St. Monica's Guild. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon (Michael) DeWitt of Fort Pierce, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) Harris, Susann DeWitt, and David DeWitt; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Serafini; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Leonard, Blanche Rammelt, Marie Geraghty, and Isabelle Kuchenbecker; and three brothers, Leo, Gilbert, and Joseph Jr. Spang.
